HYG tests every patch cord connector to make sure that every patch cord is in best condition before delivery. HYG's polishing process ensures consistently low insertion and high return loss values. Insertion and return loss values are affected by the endface geometries of the fiber connector. HYG's fiber assemblies meet Telcordia® GR-326 industry requirements for quality and performance.
1) Ferrule Surface Inspection
Every connector is inspected with 400x microscope to ensure there is no visible scratch on the fiber. As shown in the picture, the end face should be clear and clean.
2) Insertion & return Loss Test
Tested in accordance with the GR-326-CORE, the maximum insertion loss shall not exceed 0.3dB against master connector. HYG typical value is less than 0.2dB.
3).Topography Measurement for Ferrule
Our interferometer can display an accurate measurement of radius of curvature, fiber height, apex offset, fiber and ferrule roughness.
